I’m Alexis Wider-Lopez, a multi-passionate entrepreneur.  Everything is handcrafted and created with a goal of preventing hair breakage with a stylish twist for day and night looks!

From the time I was a young girl, I dreamed of being an artist and loved being around all things beauty. Starting out as a shampoo girl at my mom's salon and eventually becoming a cosmetologist myself.

When I started cosmetology school in 2019, wigs and weaves were the norm, and that was fine, but it was also a time when I was becoming comfortable with my natural hair. After undergoing two big chops, I wanted to find ways to make my hair look cute and jazz it up. That's when my first headband was born. It was a hot-glued, denim-wrapped headband that was cute but impractical. I wore it for a while but ultimately decided to learn to sew to add more versatility to my look.

I started with the nightly essential of a satin hair bonnet. Soon, I received requests from others who wanted their own bonnets, customized with their names on the back. I figured, why not? I enjoy creating the bonnets, sewing is relaxing for me, and I'm preventing breakage and damage to my hair as I sleep. Thus, Wider Beauty was born. Wider derives from my maiden name but also means thick or expanded—or as I like to call it, beauty from a different perspective.
